THE DESIGNER
Noora Al-Melhim is an interdisciplinary Qatari designer. She holds an MFA in Design Studies and a BFA in Graphic Design both from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Arts. Though having a background in Visual Communication, her work has expanded beyond its original boundaries, resulting in physical outcomes and artifacts, such as a mixture of 3D visualization, physical prototyping, and fabrication.
Noora’s work explores regional crafts and cultural experiences that are applied using a multidisciplinary approach to creating innovative and sustainable interventions for current issues. Her continuous explorations and research using new design approaches have led her to participate in many local and international design workshops, including, but not limited, to endeavors in Qatar, Italy, South Korea, England, and Kuwait that explored various design-related crafts and skills sets.
